Roda JC won the away match against TOP Oss with 1-2. In the Osse Kuipje, the Kerkrades were ahead 0-1 through Guus Joppen, but twenty minutes after the restart TOP equalized. Dylan Vente gave Roda JC the win twelve minutes before the end.
Goalkeeper Rody de Boer had to take action after three minutes when TOP Oss broke through on the left. The defense hesitated, but the Kerkrade closing post saved Joshua Sanches’ shot.
Main role for goalkeepers
Roda JC had a lot of ball possession in the initial phase, but Bryan Limbombe only fired the first shot at the Osse goal after about ten minutes. The ball went wide. Patrick Pflücke shot the ball towards the short corner shortly afterwards, but goalkeeper Norbert Alblas boxed the ball away. A shot by Stefano Marzo also neutralized Alblas. After fifteen minutes TOP Oss had a great opportunity to take the lead. Sanches headed the ball after a fine cross by Giovanni Büttner into the hands of Rody De Boer.
Joppen scores
In the nineteenth minute Roda JC took the lead when Guus Joppen tapped the ball in from a corner by Patrick Pflücke. Goalkeeper Alblas was injured and had to be replaced by Lars van Meurs. The Heerlen goalie stopped a shot on goal from Pflücke.
Ten minutes before half time TOP was close to equalizing when midfielder Lion Kaak struck from the edge of the box. His shot went wide.
Opportunities
Roda JC then had a few more chances. Patrick Pflücke and Dylan Vente were unable to reach the ball when Limbombe crossed and shortly afterwards the same Limbombe was unable to capitalize on a fine attack by Roda JC. Vente saw a shot on target being cracked by the Osse defense. Rody de Boer then prevented attempts by Ilounga Pata, Kay Tejan and Yannick Leliendal to equalize.
Second half
TOP Oss created danger in the initial phase of the second half. Joshua Sanches shot wide from close range after poor defensive work and Lion Kaak shot the falling ball from the corner high over. Sanches then tried in the short corner, but the ball went wide. Benjamin Bouchouari then shot wide from distance.
Directly
The team of coach Bob Peeters kept chasing the equalizer. A cross from Jearl Margaritha went through the leg of goalscorer Joppen. In the 64th minute, the home team was rewarded for work when Rick Stuy van den Herik headed a cross from Yannick Leliendal into the goal.
Vente heads the ball into the goal
Fifteen minutes before the end, closing post Van Meurs saved a shot by Davy van den Berg from the Osse goal, after he had previously cleared a header from Daryl Werker. In the 78th minute, however, he had no chance when Dylan Vente headed a cross from Bryan Limbombe against the ropes. It turned out to be the winning goal.

Due to this victory, Roda JC is now sixth in the Kitchen Champion Division. The Kerkrades have 49 points from 29 games.
