Our columnist Rocko Schamoni and Cologne Cares have launched a charity campaign for the victims of the war in Ukraine
Welcome back from the summer break, dear people.
Right at the beginning of the new season, I would like to come up with the unpleasant topic of the war in Ukraine. We have all more or less gotten used to this war over the past few months, the sheer terror, the incredulous excitement has given way to a dull feeling of inevitability, we have accepted the fact that there is nothing we can do about it and are now beginning to split into camps : for arms deliveries or against. I don’t want to take a position here or on this discussion, rather I want to focus on the victims, because every day people are killed, injured and/or forced to flee on the ground.
The organization Cologne CARES takes care of these victims on site in the Ukraine, and since money is still urgently needed, the senior poodles Schorsch Kamerun and I, together with many artists, spontaneously decided to help out with a charity campaign.
Poodle Art Auction
Auction for the victims of the Ukraine war
On October 20th at 8 p.m., an auction led by Schorsch and I will take place in the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg: We have received donations of valuables signed by well-known artists and media workers: Axel Prahl is giving away a western guitar, Linda Zervakis and Caren Miosga donate blouses that they wore in the “Tagesschau” and in the “Tagesthemen”, Jan Delay comes up with the finest show suits, Jan Plewka gives a rare punk rock electric guitar, there is a handwritten concert score by Chilly Gonzales, there is a concert score by Lars Jessen the “Fraktus” director’s chair, a gold doctor’s record by Bela B., there’s a signed vinyl box by Daniel Richter, Jonathan Meese and DJ Hell, I’m going to sell a legendary Einsteinende Neubauten bass by Mark Chung, and many other surprises waiting for generous bidders. There will also be performances by as yet undisclosed stars.
The auction takes place live in the Schauspielhaus but also on the Internet, which means if you can’t make it to Hamburg that day, you can still participate online, You will soon find out all the important details on the Cologne CARES Facebook page.
We would be deeply indebted to you if you would support Cologne Cares and bid on the day.
Or you can donate directly to the PayPal donation account: [email protected]
