Rocker Mark Sheehan has died at the age of 46

The guitarist of an Irish rock band died suddenly of an illness.

Guitarist of the Irish rock band The Script Mark Sheehan is dead. The guitarist died at the age of 46, the bandmates say in their Facebook post.

– Our beloved husband, brother, bandmate and friend Mark Sheehan died today in hospital after a short illness. The family and the band ask everyone to respect their privacy during the time of mourning, reads the publication.

The band only had time to announce the upcoming summer gigs a few weeks ago. The rock band was supposed to act as a warm-up act for Take That on their European tour.

Sheehan was a founding member of the band The Script, which sold 20 million records. He founded the band in 2001 as a frontman Danny O’Donoghue and the drummer Glen Power’s with.

Mark Sheehan will be missed by the Texan Rina-wife and three children. The couple was together for 17 years. They lived a private life in the United States. The guitarist kept his family out of the limelight.
