Rock am Ring 2023: line-up, tickets, arrival & weather

Rock am Ring is happening this weekend. All important information about the festival at the Nürburgring can be found here.

Rock am Ring will take place from June 2, 2023. As always, the festival will be held at the Nürburgring in the Eifel. The parallel festival Rock im Park takes place in the city of Nuremberg in Bavaria. Not only the timing, but also the line-up are almost identical at both Open Airs. The ticket prices hardly differ either.

Die Toten Hosen are the headliners again this year. Other main acts include Yungblud, Machine Gun Kelly, Apache 207, KIZ, NOFX, Tenacious D, Limp Bizkit, Rise Against and the Foo Fighters opening the festival. On Saturday, Kings of Leon, Incubus and Papa Roach will rock the stage. Bullet For My Valentine, who stepped in for Fiver Finger Death Punch at short notice, will play on Sunday.

Aviva, Bad Wolves and The Distillers also had to cancel their tours and the associated appearances at Rock am Ring. Instead, there are: Hot Milk, The Foxies and the Warsteiner Bandcontest winner Friends Don’t Lie.

Tickets for the Rock am Ring are available at Eventim and under following link. Both day tickets and tickets for the entire weekend are available. Camping tickets are already sold out.

The Weekend Festival Ticket is valid on all three days of the event during the respective opening times from June 2nd to 4th, 2023 and costs 229 euros. The Weekend Festival Ticket only entitles you to enter the infield, camping and parking require an additional ticket.

The Day Festival Ticket offers access to the Rock am Ring concert area and all three stages and costs 99 euros each. The Day Festival Ticket is valid on the day of validity during the respective opening hours on June 2nd, 3rd or 4th, 2023.

Parking & Camping

If you don’t want to or can’t camp on site and are arriving by car, you need an additional parking pass. With the Weekend Car Pass, you can park your car in designated day parking spaces from Friday to Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day. With the Day Car Pass, you can use the parking spaces on the respective day of validity for a daily fee of 25 euros.

At Rock am Ring, the camping and parking areas are generally separate. You can park your car right next to the tent on the new Car & Tent area. A Car & Tent Pass is required for each car. Each person also needs a General Camping Ticket.

For festival visitors who arrive with their own camper, there are other ticket options available. Vehicles with a corresponding parking pass can be parked in the so-called caravan pass zones. This applies to mobile homes, caravans, folding trailers, roof tents, car buses or other vehicles equipped with sleeping facilities. In addition, an additional tent, awning or pavilion can be placed next to the vehicle. Power supply within a radius of 50 meters is included. Each person also needs a caravan camping ticket.

Rock am Ring can be reached via the train stations Ahrbrück, Koblenz Hauptbahnhof, Cologne Hauptbahnhof and Bonn Hauptbahnhof and the subsequent special bus lines. If you are coming by car from Mayen/Koblenz, Cologne/Bonn via the A61 motorway, exit Wehr, then the B412 and B258 federal roads lead directly to the Nürburgring. The route from Trier via the A48 motorway, Ulmen exit, leads via the B 257 federal road in the direction of Adenau to the Nürburgring. In addition, a shuttle service is offered between Cologne and the Nürburgring. The departure is every two hours and costs 22 euros per trip.

Pay cashless

Only cashless payment via Cashless will be possible on the entire festival site. To do this, simply register your ticket in advance at following link and top up any credit. At the festival check-in, the ticket is exchanged for a wristband including a cashless chip. You can use it to make cashless payments anywhere on the Rock am Ring. The credit can be conveniently recharged at any time via the app and top-up stations on the festival grounds. After the festival you can simply reclaim the remaining credit.

The weather

The weather at Rock am Ring 2023 is expected to be warm and dry. Rain or even thunderstorms are not expected at the moment. Instead, there seems to be warm temperatures around 20 degrees, light clouds and drought. Campers can expect a dry arrival, but it still gets quite cold at night, with temperatures around 9 degrees and light gusts of wind.

Friday, the first day of the festival at Rock am Ring, promises to be a summery day. 19 to 20 degrees and eight to ten hours of sunshine are to be expected. Expect light clouds. Sunny weather will continue on Saturday. At 20 degrees and sun, t-shirt weather is the order of the day.

There are also sunny prospects for the final day of the festival at the Nürburgring. With eight hours of sunshine and up to 21 degrees and light clouds, you can celebrate well. At the Toten Hosen concert in the evening, it can quickly cool down – on a cloudless night the temperatures drop to 10 to 12 degrees.
