Rock am Ring 2022: arrival, camping, line-up, weather

The festival season is finally starting again. After two years of the corona pandemic, many festivals can take place again this summer to their full extent and without extensive hygiene concepts. Among other things, the notorious “Rock am Ring” festival, which will take place in Nuremberg for the first time since 2019 on the Whitsun weekend. We have an overview of all information on how to get there, tickets and line-up.

Tickets:

The good news first: There are still tickets for “Rock am Ring 2022”. The “Weekend Festival Ticket” costs €209. Alternatively, there are also “Day Festival Tickets” for individual festival days for €110. If you want to camp at the festival, you also need a corresponding ticket. There will be various campsites at the festival, but tickets are now only available for the “General Camping”. The ticket, which costs fifty euros, also includes a parking space. Line up:

Visitors to the “Rock am Ring” festival can expect a diverse and top-class line-up. Become a headliner Muse (Saturday), Green Day (Friday) and Volbeat (Sunday) appear. But other well-known musicians are also present at the festival. For example: Marteria, RIN, the Beatsteaks, Airbourne, Sportfreunde Stiller, Måneskin, Kafvka, Alligatoah and the Broilers. Camping at Rock am Ring:

Most campsites at the 2022 Rock am Ring festival open at the same time. The campsitesGeneral Camping”, Green Camping”, Rock’n’Roll Camping” and “Caravan Camping” will open their doors at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 1st. A few hours later, only that opens Experience Camping, namely at 6 p.m.

Only visitors with a valid, undamaged festival wristband and a camping ticket may enter the camping area. Set up tents may take up a maximum of six square meters of space. It is also important to note which items are prohibited on the campsite. Here is a list:

  • Glass in any form (exception: Green Camping)
  • Shooting, cutting, stabbing and other weapons of all kinds
  • Saws, axes, hatchets and similar tools
  • Pyrotechnic items of all kinds

  • Water-polluting substances and liquids (e.g. liquid grill lighter)
  • Gas cylinders over 500 grams outside of approved gas installations in mobile homes and caravans
  • Glass bottles and other glass containers

Directions to “Rock am Ring”:

The festival will take place again this year at the Nürburgring. City shuttles from Cologne, Bonn and Koblenz were submitted for a relaxed journey. Here you can find all information about the special connections.

If you are coming by car from Mayen/Koblenz, Cologne/Bonn via the A61 motorway, exit Wehr, the B412 and B258 federal roads will take you directly to the Nürburgring.

The route from Trier via the A48 motorway, Ulmen exit, leads via the B 257 federal road in the direction of Adenau to the Nürburgring. You can find out how to get to your campsite from the on-site signage. If in doubt, there are also folders on site to help you with any questions.

Weather:

The weather forecast for the Pentecost weekend raises hopes for a summery, rain-free festival experience. It’s supposed to be particularly sunny and warm on Friday, June 3rd. At temperatures of up to 26 degrees, visitors to the festival can enjoy the wide range of music on offer. On Saturday and Sunday it will be cloudy. However, the chance of rain remains low even on these days.
