A Finnish player who moved to Qatar Robin Tihi21, spoke directly about his approach to the Arab state’s problems of SVT in the interview.

Qatar has been criticized for, among other things, trampling on human rights, mistreating migrant workers and restricting freedom of speech.

– I don’t pay much attention to them. Those who are involved in politics can be responsible for politics. I just play football and I feel good, Tihi says.

The defender, who played for Stockholm’s AIK, was sold to Qatar’s Al-Ahli on Monday. Tihi’s contract with the club is five years long.

AIK received a transfer compensation of around two million euros from Tihi.

Tihi has already arrived in Qatar, where the first days have been “intense and hot”.

– I have received a very good reception from the club. This really feels like a family. The country is great, and there are wonderful conditions here, praised Tihi.

Tihi also told SVT that he believes he will take the next step in his career in Qatar.

– I have been told a lot about this league and how its development is planned.

Tihi debuted in Huuhkaj last January. Born in Sweden, Tihi has not played at club level in Finland.
