Finnish New York Islanders NHL players Robin Salo and Otto Koivula have both received two-year extension contracts with the club.
The Finns have played split for the Islanders and the club’s farm team in Bridgeport last season. The salary of both will be 800,000 dollars for the following seasons.
Salo’s contract is one-way, while Koivulan’s is two-way. Salo already had time to establish his place in the Islanders defense a little. He played 21 matches last season with 1+4.
Koivula, who thrives as a center and winger, first broke into the NHL team for 12 games in the 2019–20 season. Last season, Koivula got to try eight games again under the brightest lights. In the AHL, he scored a convincing 47-point season.
