The newcomer’s name? “Like my father’s”
The 82-year-old stylist gave the happy announcement to his audience via an interview with Novella 2000. Roberto Cavalli said that the newcomer’s name, Giorgio, is a special dedication. «I named him Giorgio after my father, whom the Nazis shot in the Cavriglia massacre when I was 4 years old. She was a surveyor, she worked for a mine in the Valdarno », she explained.
The moment of losing his father was understandably traumatic for the designer. “I didn’t speak until I was 18. However life has been kind to me. She rewarded me for everything».
His sixth child, born about a week ago, is the first born from the relationship with the former model Sandra Nilsson. Indeed, Cavalli has already had two children (Tommaso and Cristiana) from his first marriage with Silvanella Giannoniwhich lasted from 1964 to 1974. Then came Robin, Rachele and Daniele from the second wedding of the designer with the Austrian model Eva Maria Duringer. Their wedding came in 1980, three years after Düringer’s runner-up finish Miss Universe. She will then become his main collaborator at work.
