Robert Molenaar makes the switch from NAC Under 21 to the first team of NAC Breda. He signs a contract for one year. Ton Lokhoff and Rogier Molhoek fulfill the role of assistant trainer. They also sign a one-year contract.
Molenaar, who was active as a player at FC Volendam, RBC Roosendaal, Leeds United and Bradford City, started his coaching career in professional football at FC Volendam. Via Roda JC and Almere City, he made his entry to NAC last season as the person responsible for NAC Under 21.
“I consider it a privilege to be the head coach of such a great club and to lead a team under the new owners that carries the NAC DNA,” says Molenaar on the club’s website. “In addition, the club has provided an experienced yet ambitious technical staff. I am of course very much looking forward to working with the experience of Ton Lokhoff and Gabor Babos and the spirit of Rogier Molhoek and Anthony Lurling. There is a lot of work to be done and I am happy that we can get back to work soon.”
Lokhoff
Club icon Ton Lokhoff also returns to the Breda dug-out. According to the club, in addition to assisting Molenaar, he will also be involved in scouting, guiding youth through to the first team and thinking along about the football vision and its implementation.
Lokhoff resigned as technical director almost exactly a year ago after a lingering argument with the then coach Maurice Steijn.
