Robbie Williams stops performing briefly – due to long-COVID illness

He stopped the show by saying, “It’s Long COVID, it’s not my age you assholes!”

Robbie Williams had to break off his performance at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands on Saturday evening (June 17) after three songs. The 49-year-old musician explained on stage that it wasn’t because of the summer heat but that he was struggling with Long COVID and therefore needed a break.

In a video circulating on Twitter, Robbie Williams can be seen asking the band to stop playing after the third song and breathlessly saying, “I’m screwed”. He then laughs and calls out to the audience, “It’s Long COVID, it’s not my age you assholes!”

A concertgoer reported on Twitter that the British singer had already taken breaks between the first three songs of the show and also talked about his depression, with which his wife and his fans are a great help.

Although Robbie Williams continued the gig as planned after a short break, he seemed to have no energy for the rest of the performance, reports the Dutch daily newspaper “Algemeen Dagblatt”, among others. Williams has also made similar comments about his health at other concerts, including in Tel Aviv and Cologne.
