In an Instagram post, the ex-Take That member went into more detail about his current condition. Despite all the seriousness, Williams insisted on approaching the situation with a bit of black humor: “My ideal weight is when people worry about me,” he joked in a simple cartoon drawing on his profile. In the comments section, however, Williams is honest about his condition: “I could write a book about self-loathing when it comes to my body image. The real, pure self-loathing, the disgust at being ugly,” the Briton says. “I suffer from dysmorphophobia […] So you can probably imagine what my mind [an mir] sees. Or maybe you can’t either. Either way, it’s a shitty disaster.”

He continues, “Right now I’m skinny, but being me my mind is like, ‘Damn great Rob, you managed to get skinny and now you’re old, congratulations.’ The struggle is real, the sadness is shocking. I’ve had it my whole life and it won’t go away.” In addition, by sharing the diagnosis, he wants to liberate himself and, ideally, help others who find themselves in his words.
