Shock for customers and employees in the evening hours at Aldi on Wegdornstrasse in Altglienicke on Wednesday: Two men stormed into the store around 7 p.m., shouting loudly, one holding a pistol.
They ran towards a cash register, customers ran behind shelves, sought protection. The men demanded money from the till. But the cashier gave nothing. The robber with the gun pulled the trigger, but no shot was fired. It later turned out to be a pistol.
The two men grabbed the cash register and fled. They allegedly stole a three-digit amount. However, the police did not want to provide any information on this.
The customers and employees who witnessed the crime were then questioned.
The manhunt was then in full swing – the police helicopter “Pirol” was also deployed.
A trail initially led 300 meters to the “Humboldt Start-Up Incubator” – but then it got lost there too.
“So far, the search for the perpetrators has been unsuccessful,” said a police spokesman.
