The employees were walking from their car to the jeweler at around 9.40 am when they were attacked by two boys. The boys fled after a skirmish on a waiting scooter. Due to the intervention of bystanders, however, it was not possible to get away on that scooter. “They then fled on foot in the direction of the Mariendaal, where they were arrested a short time later,” the police said.
The suspects, 16-year-old Amsterdammers, have been arrested. The police are investigating the matter. It is not known if the jeweler’s employees were injured.
