Robbery murder Tielt: two suspects in jail longer

The lifeless body of the victim was found on Friday morning, August 11, in his home in Tielt. It quickly became clear that the man in his twenties had been killed violently. MV had already gone to a lawyer and turned herself in to the police. Subsequently, ND and TS were also arrested as suspects.

Blows delivered

The precise circumstances of the death are currently unclear. The three suspects admitted that they exchanged blows, but denied that the intention was to take the life of their comrade. They also claimed the victim was still alive when they left him late Wednesday night. A conflict over drugs may have played a role in the facts, but that is also still unclear. The suspects would also pass the buck to each other.

Robbery

The trio was initially arrested by the investigating judge on suspicion of manslaughter and culpable negligence. A week later, that qualification was expanded to include robbery and murder. This would mean that the violence was committed in order to rob D. or to flee after the theft. The suspects allegedly grabbed the victim’s bicycle and several other items.

The three were actually supposed to appear before the Bruges council chamber on September 15, but ND and TS could not be transferred from prison. They were present on Friday morning and their detention was extended by a month. The council chamber ruled last week that MV must also remain in prison for a month longer.
