Robbery Mark Gillis: third suspect arrested

A 22-year-old resident of Bossche was arrested on Monday morning on suspicion of involvement in the robbery of Mark Gillis. This is reported by the police. A 39-year-old man from Den Bosch and a 42-year-old suspect from Rosmalen were previously arrested.

Mark Gillis was brutally robbed in the night of 6 to 7 November last year when he arrived at his chalet at the Prinsenmeer holiday park. The detectives then carried out an extensive trace investigation. One of those leads eventually led to the arrest of the first suspect. His DNA resulted in a match in the database of the Netherlands Forensic Institute.

The 22-year-old suspect came into the picture during the follow-up investigation, according to the police. The man was arrested around 11 a.m. Monday morning at the police station, where he had turned himself in. Earlier in the morning, the police were at his house, but the suspect was not at home at the time.

Gillis was badly beaten, but has since recovered physically from the abuse. Psychologically, he still suffers a lot from the consequences, he has permanent security at home.

The two previously arrested suspects are still in custody.
