Robbery on a shop on Richard-von Weizsäcker-Platz in Schöneberg late Friday afternoon around 5:50 p.m. The cashier (21) was injured.

When officers arrived, they found the cashier with a bleeding head wound.

The 21-year-old was sitting at the cash register when a man came to him in the ticket booth and demanded to open the cash register. He hit him several times on the head with both fists.

According to police, a customer (65) then took his screwdriver and hit the suspect’s head with the handle.

But the robber didn’t let go of the cashier and continued to beat him. He took money from the cash register, which had now been opened, and fled, the police said on Saturday.

The 21-year-old’s head injuries were treated as an outpatient in hospital. The criminal police are investigating the robbery. The 65-year-old customer is also being investigated on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
