Robbert Rodenburg is severely beaten by Guido den Aantrekker. The editor-in-chief of the Story finds the celebrity interviewer completely uncritical. “Even Ivo Niehe is even more critical!”
Robbert Rodenburg’s interviews with well-known Dutch people are well viewed, easy to look away from, but are often also cringeworthy. Not only because his guests must also ask Robbert questions – who cares what he thinks about something – but also because the mucus content is unusually high.
Running empty at Robbert
Now Robbert has interviewed another star from his circle: Jaimie Vaes. She is allowed to empty completely for an hour and a half, but no really critical questions are asked. And that bothers a lot of people immensely. Story boss Guido den Aantractor does not like to watch it either, he says to the Shownieuws desk.
Guido snarls: “Robbert Rodenburg has a platform on YouTube where he interviews celebrities in a way that even Ivo Niehe seems very critical as a journalist, so I just want to say that if you sit on Robbert’s talking chair, you can be completely drained and basically say whatever your heart desires. That is of course very nice for many Dutch celebrities.”
Emptying into the media without contradiction: a bit of what Rachel Hazes has with the Story, so to speak.
Dyantha in the breach
Dyantha Brooks, the Shownieuws presenter who is good friends with Robbert, then steps into the breach for him. “You accuse Robbert a bit indirectly of not being very critical, but that might not be appropriate with someone who is a victim, is it?”
You may wonder whether that Jaimie is interesting enough at all, says Guido. “The painful thing is that she has become more and more famous because of this whole affair. No one actually knew her before that and as far as I am concerned we will return to that situation very soon.”
Jokes
Guido thinks the attention for Jaimie is disproportionate. “I think we are inundated with these kind of jokers. They have all experienced the most horrible things, but there are many more women in the Netherlands who experience much worse things and you hardly see or hear them, so I am also a bit done with it.”
Then he comes back to Robbert. “In any case, I understand that this is a group of friends, because this includes Robbert, and they now have a platform on which they can present themselves. Well, good for them, fine, but of course it is not really serious journalism.”
fairground attraction
Guido to colleague Natacha Harlequin: “Do you think she is making it a fairground attraction at the moment or not?”
Natacha: “No, I don’t know her, but if I follow her like this, I feel that she really wanted to get out of a very difficult situation.”
Guido: “I understand that, but you don’t have to emphasize that for the fourth or fifth time in an interview, do you? Just wait for that case to serve.”
Dyantha: “Of course you also have the opinion of the public and you may also want to set yourself straight if there are many opinions that are not justified.”
