Rob Kemps causes a lot of anger with his performance at Eva Jinek. His former colleague Maurice Huismans, known as DJ Maurice, is pissed off. “He never mentions my name on purpose. Never!”
For a long time Rob Kemps pretended to be the singer of the Snollebollekes, but it was soon discovered that he was only put forward to lip sync those party songs and act crazy on stage. The real creators of this party act are Jurjen Gofers and Maurice Huismans, who is known as DJ Maurice and as Gordon’s ex-boyfriend.
Rob ignores Maurice
Critics argue that Rob has deliberately lied for years about his role in the whole and things are also rumbling behind the scenes. According to Maurice, Rob makes a nice impression with the work of others. The DJ thinks he is very little credits receives for the current success of Snollebollekes and Rob’s solo career that has resulted from it.
Rob was in Eva Jinek’s talk show the day before yesterday to announce new Snollebollekes concerts. There he mentioned Jurjen’s name, but he kept silent about Maurice. And that stings him. “Well… should I respond now or, as I have been doing for over two years, keep my mouth shut because I don’t want to let myself sink to the level of others?”
‘Don’t call me on purpose’
Maurice has to get it off his chest, he says Facebook. “Yesterday I received apps from various people, including some Dutch celebrities, so I just looked back at Jinek. It is indeed ‘remarkable’ that my name is deliberately not mentioned in every interview by Rob and it seems as if I never existed.”
He continues: “While anyone from the music industry, or who has known the act from the beginning, knows how great my input, creativity, know-how and entrepreneurial spirit has been in the story. (…) Adult behavior and mutual respect would simply be normal, because without me there would not have been a Snollebollekes act.”
Yellow tie
Without Maurice, the debut single Vrouwkes would never have happened. “Then he would not have had a red jacket with a yellow tie, no merchandise, no GelreDome concerts and no festival of his own, all other songs would not have been made and Rob would therefore probably never have been noticed in TV land.”
So a little recognition is in order, says Maurice. “I could say much more, but I will keep it short and neat. Anyway, I’m glad I still know where I come from. And through!”
Understandable
Ronald Molendijk, Shownieuws music connoisseur, finds Maurice’s reaction understandable. “I do understand that if you are more or less cancelled, don’t you, that if you are silenced to death, that can be a problem at some point. At the same time: if a good deal has been made there…”
What deal? Evert Santegoeds: “We asked around a bit and then the story is that the cooperation at Snollebollekes was very difficult behind the scenes, also in the financial field, and that Maurice was bought out for quite a lot of money at the time.”
For tons? Ronald: “I hope millions. If you manage to sell out GelreDome four times…”
Just talk
Maurice has since removed his complaint. “My last post is causing something, I notice. I have rejected various (TV) interviews about this and after consultation with and out of respect for one business partner in this story who has always arranged it properly with me, I have removed it anyway.”
“I still fully support it, but I want to give them the chance to talk it out nicely again.”
