The enormous television quarrel between Angela de Jong and Johan Derksen touches Today Inside in the heart: the program loses a lot of credibility due to its blind adoration for John de Mol. Johan made a bizarre attack on Angela in yesterday’s broadcast, but she cornered him with great ease.

Rob supports Angela

VI viewers are extremely disappointed in Johan and are massively negative about the elderly football analyst. And even people who usually hate Angela now support her. One of them is Rob Goossens.

Rob thinks that Johan ‘fell off his pedestal’ because of his argument with Angela. “Yeah, unfortunately. And of course he can find it all. But then he should not shout afterwards that he is in the only Talpa program in which John de Mol is being lectured. Kim Jong-un is dealt with harder by the North Korean state media than John de Mol by Johan.”

“You really are a woman!”

Johan was unable to win Angela’s discussion with arguments. At one point he started shouting that Angela ‘is really a woman’. “Angela wins this discussion with ease. Especially if Derksen no longer has any arguments and it throws on ‘you are a woman’”, says RTL Boulevard reporter Joost Maiburg.

Even VI colleague Wilfred Genee thinks so, he shows in the VI talk section In The Corridors. “How do you experience that yourself?” he asks Angela. “It got pretty hard at one point. How’s that for you then? Look, the comment: ‘It’s a woman again!’, what can you do with that? You can’t do anything with that. Then you’re finished, aren’t you?”

Bad arguments

Angela then says: “Yes, but I mean: if you think you have to use such arguments, you don’t seem very strong yourself, do you? That, of course, is part of the problem. I’m a woman, so yes: I just have to keep my mouth shut. I am proud to be a woman.”

Wilfred: “Ultimately, whatever you say, don’t worry about it. You know who says it, right?”

Angela: “Yeah, I guess you don’t have to read it, do you? The law does not state that you must read Angela de Jong’s column every day.”

boundless admiration

Wilfred thinks that Johan is going through fire for John. “I have to be honest: I sometimes look at it with amazement, it’s quite fierce in it.”

Angela: “Yeah, but I think we all suspect what the reason is, right?”

Wilfred: “Yes.”

Angela: “A boundless admiration for someone.”
