The participation of Rob Goossens in the television quiz De Slimste Mens is extremely successful. The RTL Boulevard face was in the show for the seventh time in a row yesterday and with that he has achieved the maximum number of allowed episodes. He will therefore only return in the final week, at the end of August.

Harry angry

During his last regular broadcast, Rob had to share a number of facts about TV maker Harry de Winter. You are then expected to shout all kinds of things about someone, hoping to score good answers. “Harry de Winter has a brain tumor and knows that he is going to die,” he said, among other things. “His cousin is Leon de Winter.”

Harry turns out to be completely pissed about that: “Two mistakes about me pass the jury unnoticed, so bad research. I do not have a brain tumor and Leon de Winter (…) is not related.”

Rob angry

The AD has a distracting article written about it, namely ‘Harry de Winter piqued about Rob Goossens’ wrong answers in De Slimste Mens’. “Last night, participant Rob Goossens said during a round of questions that the 73-year-old presenter has a brain tumor,” the newspaper reports.

Rob is angry, because he thinks that’s a bad idea. It’s not that Rob just ‘called’ this, he was just guessing at good answers to a quiz question.

‘K*t newspaper!’

It really goes down the wrong way for Rob. “Did I mention that the AD is a petty k*t newspaper? Do you immediately understand why I was extra happy to play their editor-in-chief home.”

He refers to Rennie Rijpma, who sat next to Rob in De Slimste Mens last week. “The latter is of course not personal, because I thought Rennie was a very nice woman. Otherwise it is clearly personal.”

asbestos cancer

Harry does not have a brain tumor, but an incurable form of lung cancer. Rob to Harry: “I’m not the editors of The Smartest Man, I’m just a candidate who tried to win by saying things he thought he remembered about you.”

Harry then tells his followers: “Okay, a candidate from De Slimste Mens called this uncorrected. Wasn’t the editors’ research. I was abroad and only received this distorted information, so it would be nice if someone corrects that.”
