Last January, Julius (9), the son of Rob and his wife Henriëtte Koetschruiter, became infected with the virus. The family then did everything they could to keep the child away from the frail De Nijs, who suffers from Parkinson’s. “Of course he can’t have this,” Henriëtte told De Telegraaf. “It doesn’t matter much for the course of Parkinson’s, but he also has a form of asthma and that makes it an extra risk.”
Rob has “had all the injections and the booster,” she said. “If he has covid today or tomorrow, then nothing is lost and we have to hope that those shots do their job. But this is of course what we were always afraid of.”
