Celebrations: is that even possible again? It was carefully tried out on Sunday in the Berlin “Delphi” cinema – at the premiere of the third season of “LOL: Last One Laughing” (from April 14 on Amazon Prime Video). On the blue carpet, everyone was still a little unsure, 2G+ applied, and yet without a mask it felt strange. While Herbert Knaup seemed quite relaxed, Jonas Nay admitted that he was excited about the after-show party: maybe he would put on the FFP2 mask after all or just run out? (Spoiler alert: He didn’t.)

The comedians who sit in the living room on “LOL” and have to try not to laugh at the jokes of others for six hours were in a great mood. Anke Engelke (the only one who was there for all three seasons) put it in a nutshell: “All the things that you can’t anticipate are the problem.” And that she’s generally too friendly – a disadvantage of this format. Olaf Schubert called the shooting a “pleasant experience” and even Christoph Maria Herbst was unusually euphoric – for him the request was like “Christmas and Easter on one day”, he accepted immediately. In between, however, he was overtaken by a great deal of insecurity: “Oh God, I’d rather be doing retraining!” (Spoiler alert: You don’t notice that. In the first two episodes that were shown, he is by far the funniest because he is the least of all shy away from deliberately throwing female colleagues off course.)

As before, Michael Bully Herwig is sitting at the buzzer again and checking whose facial features are slipping away – and therefore: who he has to throw out. “I don’t play referee, that’s what I am. And I really don’t like doing it!” he says. You can tell by looking at him. The cast is once again a who’s who of the German comedy scene: In addition to the aforementioned, there are also Abdelkarim, Carolin Kebekus, Palina Rojinski and Axel Stein, and Hazel Brugger from Switzerland. With her great talent for making a chicken, even non-comedian Michelle Hunziker is not negative, on the contrary. The pout she pulls so as not to have to laugh are fabulous.

After the screening and before the party, after a bit of chatting, Bully of course remembered the deceased Mirco Nontschew, who can be seen here again with all his unbelievable grimaces. There were standing ovations – between all the laughs, the most touching moment of the evening.
