A fire started at the beginning of the evening along the A37 near Veenoord. The fire started on a verge of the Veilingstraat and quickly spread up the slope towards the highway.
The fire brigade placed cones on the emergency lane to be able to extinguish the fire as best as possible. Train traffic that had to pass did so at a lower speed.
The fire was soon under control. The first firefighters have now left Veenoord. It is unknown how the fire started.
