A work bus of road workers hit several trees this morning on the Kielsterachterweg near Wildervank, on the border of Drenthe and Groningen. The accident happened around 5.45 am on the N385. After the collision, the bus ended up on its side.
According to police who were at the scene of the accident, the driver became trapped. The fire brigade freed him from the car. He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
The bus’s load is on the road, which was closed to traffic in both directions for some time.
It is not clear how the accident could have happened.
