In order for a heavy-duty transport to take place on Sunday night, the roadway on Stralauer Allee under the Warschauer Strasse subway bridge had to be removed by 60 centimeters!

To do this, vehicle traffic in the direction of Elsenbrücke had to be narrowed to one lane from the Warschauer Straße/Am Oberbaum intersection and directed in the opposite direction.

There were also restrictions on the surrounding streets (Warschauer Straße, Stralauer Allee and Am Oberbaum).

Preparations for transporting the heavy transformer had already begun on Wednesday. The road is not expected to be restored until next Wednesday.
