RKC trainer Oosting is fed up with the behavior of Bel Hassani and Bakkali and keeps the duo out of selection: ‘Once it’s done’ | Dutch football

At RKC, two names were missing from the selection on Saturday evening. Iliass Bel Hassani and Zakaria Bakkali were kept out of the selection by trainer Joseph Oosting for the duel with Vitesse (1-0 win).

Iliass Bel Hassani was the seasoning at RKC in the first half of the season. He seemed to have turned completely after last year, in which he was twice kept out of the selection by trainer Joseph Oosting. But on Saturday against Vitesse he was back in the stands, just like fellow attacker Zakaria Bakkali. The duo was disciplinary suspended for inadmissible behavior.

Oosting explains: ,,Without going too deeply into what exactly happened, it is clear that the behavior they have shown is not acceptable. I can take a lot, players can go quite far with me. But once it’s done. If you then do not act as a trainer, your authority will be undermined. It’s like little kids, you love them, but you have to punish them once.”

It was a decision of the coaching staff, which was not further explained to the rest of the players. That is not necessary, says captain Michiel Kramer. “Sometimes they have to make such decisions, we have nothing to do with that. We get to see the list of names a day before the game, that’s it. I don’t always need to know everything.”

Whether it is for one match or whether the duo will be there again on Sunday in De Kuip against Feyenoord, Oosting could not say. “It really depends on how they behave in training. If it goes well, they will come back. If not, then not. It is really not the football, because we can use them very well.”
