The Brazilian artist was receiving treatment for lung cancer that was discovered in 2021
Brazilian singer-songwriter Rita Lee, one of the most recognized artists of Brazil and known as ‘The Queen of Rock’, passed away on Monday night at his residence in the city of Sao Paulo at the age of 75, the family reported.
Author of hits like ‘Lança perfume’, ‘Baila comigo’ and ‘Mania de você’, the Brazilian artist had been coping with lung cancer which was discovered in 2021. “We announced the death of Rita Lee, at her residence, in São Paulo, late last night and surrounded by all the love of her family, as she always wanted”, was the message published by the family of her on Instagram.
The singer-songwriter was one of the most established artists and recognized from the South American giant where she will always be remembered as ‘the queen of Brazilian rock’.
