Rising prices: Asos is reportedly postponing fall orders

Asos is reportedly postponing some of its fall orders as customers look to cut fashion spending amid rising prices.

Delivery companies of the British online shop said the Mail on Sundaythat some stocks had been canceled at short notice in the last few weeks.

But the fashion company said on Friday that cancellations were “not above normal at this time” but that there had been “a few more postponements”, according to a statement seen by the Mail on Sunday.

The statement continued, “We unveiled a new strategy in November last year which includes purchasing with shorter lead times and streamlining our inventories.”

“With this in mind, and in line with standard industry practice at this time of year, we have postponed a limited number of orders. We value our supplier relationships and will continue to work closely with them.”

However, a delivery company told the newspaper that Asos is “congested” and that cancellations could pile up in the coming weeks and months.

The news comes a month after Asos lowered its earnings guidance on uncertain consumer buying behavior and the potential continuation of higher yields.
