A car containing cocaine was parked near the metro station. At the time Sedar was playing with his friends, he allegedly tried to steal that cocaine from the car, a so-called rip deal. The owner of the cocaine caught the thieves and allegedly fired. Those shots would have killed Sedar.
It was long believed that Sedar was shot for throwing snowballs at a motorist. The police, thanks to new witness statements, came back. “The police have no choice but to draw the sad conclusion that Sedar was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
The police are therefore making a specific appeal to people who may know something about the cocaine, the rip deal and the possible weapon. According to the police, there are strong indications that there are people within the Antillean community who know who the shooter is. “There could be all kinds of reasons why people have not spoken to us in the past, hopefully those circumstances have changed,” said the police spokeswoman. “We can’t solve this without their information.”
