Heavy riots broke out in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires on Thursday, just as a marathon session on a reform package is taking place in parliament. Trade unionists and activists hit police with sticks, who fired rubber bullets and used tear gas, among other things. Opposition members then left the debates in parliament in protest against the repression of demonstrators.
