Farmers broke into a police deposition at the house of minister Christianne van der Wal (Nature and Nitrogen). A spokesperson for the minister confirms this.
They pushed a police car aside so tractors could drive into the street. The minister is not at home, the spokesman said. It is the second day in a row that farmers are demonstrating against the nitrogen policy at the minister’s home.
According to the NOS a group of rioters also set off fireworks at the house. The minister’s family is at home.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte issued a statement on Tuesday in which he stated that the farmers’ aggressive protests are “unacceptable”.
