Rijkswaterstaat will set up a heat protocol next Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. due to the warm weather. In Drenthe it will be about 29 degrees on Monday. On Tuesday the temperature can rise to 33 degrees.
A heat protocol means that people with bad luck at the side of the road are removed as quickly as possible. Drivers who are stranded are also taken as quickly as possible to a place with facilities, such as a gas station. “A place where they can stand safely and out of the sun and have something to drink and eat,” says a spokesperson for Rijkswaterstaat.
It will be examined later whether the heat protocol will also be in force on Tuesday, then the temperature will rise even further.
