Rijkswaterstaat measures narrow fairway under Ameland four times as often after consultation with shipping company Wagenborg: ‘There has been a difference’

It is a result of Monday’s consultation between Wagenborg Passenger Services and Rijkswaterstaat. The shipping company announced on Monday that one-way traffic has been set up for ferries on a new section of fairway at lower water levels. This part of the route between Ameland and Holwerd would not meet the minimum width and depth, so that ships can no longer pass each other safely.
