Romanian Janet was brought to Finland in 2019, where she was mated. Another of his pimps was Finnish. The police investigated the matter as human trafficking, and the men who sold Janet were convicted of pimping in 2021. Janet has entered the human trafficking assistance system.

– When I came to Finland, I made tons of money in the first months because I was new and looked like a child. It fascinated many men. I had up to 14 customers a day. It was really hard, Janet goes through her experiences.
According to the documentary, almost half of the victims of human trafficking in the EU are from Romania. Most of them are women and children who, like Janet, have been forced into prostitution.
In Janet’s case, the abuse already started in her country of birth. The mother who lived in an orphanage got Janet when she was only 16 years old. Janet also ended up in an orphanage out of necessity; mother was unable to take care of him.
– A male doctor visited us at night. If we didn’t sleep, he started abusing us children. It was forcing oral sex and rape, Janet says about a place where children were also forced to eat their own excrement.
A childless couple adopted Janet when she was four years old. However, they threw her out at the age of 16, leaving Janet on the street.
Telling about difficult life stages in a documentary is hard work. That’s why Janet has to ask once to stop the interview.
