Riding school in Roden has money in and can prepare a move

Small and outdated stables for the horses of riding school De Hulhorst should soon be a thing of the past. The owners can look forward to more than 1.7 million euros to look for a new location.

There has been talk of moving the riding school for years. It is currently located on the Hullenweg in Roden-South. The municipality of Noordenveld wants to start building there in the short term, which means that a relocation is desirable.

Building does not match ambition

The riding school in Roden-South is doing well. There are 40 horses and because enthusiasts can also ride without an animal at De Hulhorst, the Mensinghe Riding and Men’s Association managed to attract many new members. According to chairman Henk van Dijk, 120 riders make use of this.

The 40-year-old building does not suit the ambitious association. The umbrella horse association (KNHS) has indicated that the current location should actually already be written off, but has postponed it since the talks between the riding school and the Noordenveld municipality are still ongoing.

Esweg

The Esweg, located between Roden and Roderesch, is seen as a good new location for the riding school. The Driving and Driving Association Mensinghe has indicated that it hopes that a new location will be found this year.
