Michael Kölz won the Grand Prix at the horse festival in Redefin for the second time after 2015. The show jumper from Saxony prevailed on Sunday with the fastest clear ride in the jump-off.

“I’m really happy,” said the winner, who in the saddle of Cellato in 39.65 seconds just kept ahead of European Champion André Thieme (Plau am See) with Candid (41.56). “My first win here was my first big win, it’s my favorite tournament.” Third place went to Eiken Sato from Japan with Chadellano (0/42.76). A total of eleven couples had reached the jump-off.

Diederichsmeier in front in the championship

Mynou Diederichsmeier (Lilienthal) had triumphed in the championship the day before. She rode the fastest clear round in the jump-off with Quick and Fly in 38.28 seconds. “I didn’t ride incredibly fast, but my horse is just fast,” said Diederichsmeier in the NDR interview: “I love this horse more than anything. She fights for me, has character and is fun every day.” Second was Ulf Ebel with Chaccolina (0/39.18) ahead of Sven Gero Hünike with Devito 27 (0/40.03).
