Kickboxer Rico Verhoeven from Halsteren has been followed by a camera crew for the past year and a half. The result is the four-part TV series “RICO: Dream Big,” which premieres March 4 on Amazon Prime Video.
Verhoeven himself announced the news by sharing a trailer on his Instagram channel. “This is a special moment for me,” he wrote. The series is not only about Rico’s sports career, another big dream of the Brabander is also discussed. “It’s about my journey from ‘just’ an athlete to an actor.”
Role in Undercover
It’s no secret that Verhoeven sees a future in Hollywood. He has often said that he sees a great example in former wrestler and now popular actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. “Why shouldn’t I use the sport as a stepping stone to movies too?”, we hear him say in the trailer. Rico has already taken the first step with a small role in the last season of Undercover.
Incidentally, the documentary is full of familiar faces. In addition to Frank Lammers and Jandino Asporaat, we also see the famous Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg passing by.
