Rico Verhoeven somehow also understands that Forum for Democracy politician Gideon van Meijeren went to get a story from journalist Merel Ek with a rotating camera.
Gideon van Meijeren, Member of Parliament for Forum for Democracy, has made a film for his supporters in which he portrays Hart van Nederland journalist Merel Ek as a ‘sewer rat’. He assaults her with a rotating camera and then secretly takes pictures, which he now tries to discredit her.
Devil’s Advocate
It is seen from left to right as an attempt to intimidate Merel and her fellow journalists. Even Prime Minister Mark Rutte has condemned this action.
Kickboxer Rico Verhoeven does understand Gideon’s action. “I’m the devil’s advocate for a while,” he says in the talk show Jinek. “Everyone always thinks they can say anything. On the internet, journalists… You see? Everyone can always attack everyone, before it is proven whether something is indeed the case.”
‘Turn around’
Rico understands that Gideon might have had enough of that too. “Maybe this is not the right person they did it to, but we as famous people also get a microphone every time, even though we don’t always want it.”
He continues: “Maybe now he’s like, hey! And maybe this wasn’t the honest and right person for that, but maybe he’s like, okay, now let’s turn it around and see how they feel.”
Anti-vaccination
Rico also announces that he will no longer be vaccinated against the corona virus. “I’m not really looking forward to it, so I don’t have to, no. If I get it then it’s quarantine and just get sick,” he says.
He doesn’t believe all those jabs. “I’ve heard too often about vaccination and that people eventually get sick, come to the ICU and die, while they are vaccinated. I did do the first two Pfizer shots.”
‘How do you know that?’
When an internist explains at the table that a corona vaccination is really useful, Rico starts the discussion: “You say it reduces the chance that you get it, but how do we know that? How long has research been done and how long have tests been done that we know for sure that it really helps? Everyone at home wonders about that.”
Robin Peeters, the internist in question, said: “Hundreds of millions of people have now been vaccinated worldwide. We know that the risk of dying is much, much smaller if you are vaccinated. There is no discussion about that.”
