Borussia Dortmund has finally separated from Sven Mislintat. BVB agreed with its former squad planner to dissolve the contract, which was originally running until 2028, against a severance payment at the end of the month. The confirmed sports manager Lars Ricken, among other things, the “Ruhr Nachrichten”.
Mislintat had returned to the Borussia in May 2024 as a technical director and squad planner. But a good two weeks after the end for chief coach Nuri Şahin, Mislintat, who had previously worked at FC Arsenal, VfB Stuttgart and Ajax Amsterdam, was released after internal match fights on February 6th.
Before that, there are always differences between Mislintat and sports director Sebastian Kehl and Ricken for months. These disputes are said to have been decisive for bursting transfers and problems in the squad. Mislintat was accused of having worked beyond his defined work area, which caused great unrest. Mislintat had already worked at BVB from 2006 to 2017.
