Rick van Drongelen was involved in a car accident

Player of the Bundesliga Association Union Berlin Rick van Drongelen23, was involved in a tragic car accident on Wednesday, news reported Bild.

An 18-year-old man died in the crash.

In Belgium, van Drongelen, who was on loan on the KV Mechelen team, was taken to hospital after the accident.

According to reports, two people driving a car hit each other on Wednesday morning in Langeweg, the Netherlands. The other person driving the car was just van Drongelen.

He was on his way to rehearsals when the accident happened. The crash happened 75 kilometers from Axel, the hometown of van Drongelen.

International Mechelen Sports Director Tom Caluwe said in a club press release that van Drongelen, who was playing as a defender, was taken to hospital.

– His injuries would not seem really bad at first glance, but further investigations say more. We want to express our condolences to the victim’s family.

According to Bild, a police investigation has been launched into the accident, but not all the details of the crash are yet clear.

Van Drongelen moved to Mechelen in late January under a loan agreement. In addition to Union Berlin, he has played for HSV.
