On the October 12 episode “#1881 – Rick Rubin” of the podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” producer Rick Rubin talks to comedian Joe Rogan about, among other things, the recording of the band The Strokes’ new album.

Rubin says about the joint work on the new album and the special scenery during the recording: “A few months ago I was in Costa Rica with the Strokes to record a new album with them. We rented this house on top of a mountain and set the band up outside. This made it feel like they were doing a mountaintop concert for the ocean. We did this every day – it was amazing. They didn’t want to go home, it was one of the most beautiful experiences.

No album announcement by the Strokes themselves yet

The new album teased by Rick Rubin remains unannounced by the Strokes. The followers on Twitter can hardly wait. A video recording of the podcast is already circulating there, in which Rubin announces the information about the seventh album.

Strokes and Rubin previously collaborated on the band’s most recent album

The Strokes’ current album THE NEW ABNORMAL was also produced by Rubin in 2020.
