It’s been ten years since Richie Sambora left Bon Jovi. Now the band is celebrating its 40th anniversary and the guitarist has stated that he could imagine a reunion – if it would suit everyone involved.
In a conversation with “People” Sambora indicated that there had already been considerations and discussions regarding his return: “A documentary is being made about the band and about things I was involved in. People want to see us play, that will make everyone happy. I mean, basically that’s why you do it at this point.” In 2013, he left Bon Jovi during the ongoing “Because We Can” tour.
Comeback in the near future?
For a long time, the reasons for the separation were never officially announced until Sambora commented on his resignation in 2020, stating that he wanted to use his time for his daughter as she needed him more. “It was obviously not a popular decision with the fans, but I had no other choice,” he said at the time. Now, three years later, there doesn’t seem to be much standing in the way of a comeback. “So yeah, it could definitely happen. It’s just a question of when everyone is ready to do it. It will be a big, massive undertaking,” explains Richie Sambora. However, the guitarist has not yet been able to announce any details or timetable. “It’s time to do it though…it’s our 40th anniversary but I feel younger than ever.” I’m having a great time,” he added.
“We’ve already rehearsed”
In recent years, Sambora has already indicated his interest in a reunification. In 2018, Bon Jovi were inducted into the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame and as Richie Sambora accepted the award on stage with the rest of the band, he said: “Everyone’s falling back into place… it feels great, everyone.” to see. We already rehearsed and it was wonderful, it wasn’t strange.”
Jon Bon Jovi has not yet commented on possible comeback plans.
