73-year-old actor Richard Gere’s family vacation to Mexico took a nasty turn when Gere was hospitalized.

The actress is currently on vacation with her family at Nuevo Vallarta beach. The family was celebrating Gere’s wife Alejanda Silvan 40th birthdays with their children. The couple has two children together.

TMZ– news website, Gere’s malignant cough started already at the beginning of the vacation. Later during the trip, the actor’s condition worsened and he had to seek medical attention.
According to TMZ, Gere has already been able to go outside. Silva has also published a photo of the family in the stories section of his Instagram account, where they are walking together in sunny landscapes. Gere is wearing a face mask in the picture.
