AMSTERDAM – Sure, Jan-Lennard Struff played anything but at his best, but the way Botic van de Zandschulp blew the world’s number 52 off the court during the opening round of the Australian Open (6-4, 6-3 and 6-2 ) was nevertheless particularly impressive. The 31-year-old German was sent home as a schoolboy by Van de Zandschulp six years younger. His next opponent is Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
