Mayor Renze Bergsma van Coevorden presented a royal decoration to Annemarie Splinter-Eekels this afternoon. That happened in De Stadskerk, during the opening of the exhibition The fortress recaptured.
Born in Amsterdam, she has been active as a volunteer at the Stedelijk Museum in Coevorden since 2001. There she held several positions on the board. Splinter-Eekels was chairman and secretary. She is currently active as a board member.
She has also been coordinator of the Heritage Days since 2006.
