Darja Varfolomeev won the first German EM medals in 42 years at the European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Tel Aviv.
The 15-year-old student from Schmiden took third place on Sunday (June 19, 2022) both in the final with the ball and in the final with the clubs.
Fifth in all-around
The same placement, at that time in the medal decision with the hoop, was last achieved by Carmen Rischer from Wattenscheid in 1980 at the European title fights in Amsterdam.
Varfolomeev finished fifth in the all-around on Saturday, with the ribbon the debutant at the European Championships came sixth.
