Darja Varfolomeev is unbeatable. The sports gymnast celebrated an unchallenged victory in the all-around finals. In the group finals, TV Dahn won its next title.
World champion wins in the all-around singles
Clear favorites victory in the all-around individual: Darja Varfolomeev was able to secure the title as in the previous year, and that superior by almost ten points. The world champion from TSV Schmiden scored 135,550 points in the combination of hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. Margarita Kolosov, who finished second like last year, reached 125,700 points. Third was Anna Shenenko (121,000).
“The title means a lot to me. I’m developing and I always want to do better. I’m very happy that it worked out.”, said Varfolomeev of the sports show. The only 16-year-old, who wrote German sports history last year with her World Cup triumph in Sofia, acted with her own ease on all four devices. Kolosov was only a bit better on the tape, otherwise all individual ratings went to the old and new German champion.
The next titles will be awarded on Saturday, then in the individual competitions. Varfolomeev, who also won European Championship gold for the German Gymnastics Federation for the first time seven weeks ago, is again the big favorite.
Unbeatable quintet from Dahn
Title number two and three for TV Dahn 1910 at this year’s finals. One day after winning the group all-around, the group finals were also won with the hoops, ribbons and balls. This meant that the previous year’s triumphs could be repeated in these disciplines.
In both competitions, the women from the Palatinate started the exercise with the highest starting value and were also able to convince in the execution. The dominance became particularly clear with the five tyres. Dahn scored 25.050 points, the second-placed quintet from TV St. Wendel scored 21.500 points. Third place went to the sports gymnasts from TB 1889 Oppau (21,100).
It was a bit more exciting with the three ribbons and two balls. There the lead after the exercise was less than one point. Dahn (23.050) won ahead of Oppau (22.150) and St. Wendel (18.750).
