Only 15 years old and already a four-time German champion: Darja Varfolomeev has also cleared three individual disciplines of rhythmic gymnastics.

Kim Bui is the new German champion on the uneven bars, Elisabeth Seitz just missed her 24th title at the German Gymnastics Championships in Berlin. The German record champion took second place in her only apparatus final on Saturday (06/25/2022). With 13,500 points, the Stuttgarter had to admit defeat on the uneven bars to her club colleague Kim Bui, who received 13,600 points for her exercise. “Two weeks ago I caught a cold. I didn’t want to take any chances.”said Seitz, who, in addition to the double bar, only competed in the jumping competition, but did not reach the final there because she did not offer a second jump.

Emma Malewski from Chemnitz came third with 12,733 points. A day after winning the all-around title, Sarah Voss from Cologne finished fourth with 12,666 points, shortly after securing another vault title.

Varfolomeev steals the show from Kolosov

The individual decisions at the German championships in rhythmic gymnastics ended with an outstanding result for Darja Varfolomeev. One day after her victory in the all-around, the only 15-year-old from Schmiden, who came third two times at the European Championships, also prevailed in the three apparatus decisions with the hoop, the ball and the clubs.

Varfolomeev only had to settle for third place in the decision with the ribbon, the title went to Margarita Kolosov. The 18-year-old from Potsdam won all five gold medals in the national title fights last year.

Titles for Hosseini and Brendel

In the men’s category, Milan Hosseini showed the best routine on the floor, while Pascal Brendel won by a wide margin on the pommel horse. Gold on the rings went to Dario Sissakis from Berlin.
