The handball Bundesliga club Rhein-Neckar Löwen has to do without Mikael Appelgren for the time being.
The Swedish world-class goalkeeper injured his left hand in the 32:31 league win against Hannover on Sunday. The tear in the skin between the thumb and forefinger has already been sewn up.
According to an initial medical assessment, the keeper will miss the next three Löwen games and will not be considered again until the home game against Lemgo Lippe on November 13 at the earliest.
It’s another setback for Appelgren, who had just recovered from a shoulder injury.
