Reyna farewell “a matter of days”

There are signs of a separation between Borussia Dortmund and offensive player Giovanni Reyna this winter. According to consistent media reports, BVB is ready to listen to offers for the American, and with Nottingham Forest from the Premier League and Olympique Marseille from the French Ligue 1, two hot candidates for a transfer have already emerged. But a decision will probably take some time to come.

“Caught Offside” fuels speculation that Nottingham Forest and Olympique Marseille in particular are said to have their eye on Giovanni Reyna from BVB. However, the portal also claims to have learned that the current offers are simply not good enough for the people of Dortmund.

Therefore, Reyna was told that he would have to approach the club with better offers. Basically, the Black and Yellows are playing for time and want to wait until the end of the winter transfer window on January 31st to see how things develop, they say.

“Bild” assesses the situation similarly. Accordingly, the offers are not “completely convincing” for either BVB or Reyna, but an agreement is still expected. “A change should only be a matter of days,” the paper claims to have learned.

BVB does not rule out Reyna’s farewell

The fact that a farewell is by no means out of the question is also suggested by words that BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl chose on “DAZN” on Sunday before the league game against VfL Bochum (3-1): “Of course we have everything in both directions “We want to play this game well first, then we will analyze and discuss the situation in more detail. Of course there are a few mind games at the moment. But nothing is final yet, nothing is fixed yet.”

A possible transfer fee for the US international was recently traded at around 20 million euros. As things stand, Giovanni Reyna is currently under contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2025. According to “The Athletic”, at least Nottingham is initially aiming for a loan with a subsequent purchase option.

Reyna moved to Dortmund from the New York City FC youth team on a free transfer in the summer of 2019. In 121 appearances, the USA international has 17 goals and 16 assists.
